Media Release - NZ groups question Te Maori sponsorship Church and Society Commission of the National Council of Churches Press release questions the sponsors of the Te Maori exhibition, especially the NZ Government, Mobil and Bechtel in light of their pollution of the ocean and seabed to the Te Atiawa people. It also questions the state of indigenous people and weather the exhibiton is being used to substitute for respecting, protecting and restoring the rights of indigenous people.

A case for Constitutional Reform Conference of Churches in Aotearoa New Zealand This paper picks up the debate on electoral reform (MMP and a proposed Senate system) and explores the implication in Aotearoa. CCANZ propose that Constitutional Reform would be a preferable structural change towards tino rangatiratanga o te iwi Maori. Suggestion is made that tauiwi and church organisations raise the issue of honouring Te Tiriti as central in any proposed constructional or governance changes.

Tino Rangatiratanga - A public questions occasional paper Conference of Churches in Aotearoa New Zealand This paper understands Tino Rangatiratanga as central to Maori understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi. Tino Rangatiratanga stands in contrast to kawantanga which Maori have always seen as giving limited power to the Crown. The booklet explores Government policy, legislation and the action of the Court in relation to Tino Rangatiratanga, and makes an argument for constitutional reform that places Tino Rangatiratanga and the Treaty at the heart of the matter.
